Gold Crosses ₹85,000 Per 10g Mark in March 2026

JAK Annual General Meeting Scheduled for April 2026

The Jewelers Association Kulgam Annual General Meeting for the year 2026 has been scheduled for April 15, 2026 at the Association Office, Kulgam. All registered members are requested to attend without fail.

Key agenda items include election of new office bearers, review of member benefits, and planning of the upcoming Summer Jewelry Exhibition. Members must carry their membership cards.

BIS Mandatory Hallmarking Extended to Silver Jewelry

The Bureau of Indian Standards has announced that mandatory hallmarking will now be extended to silver jewelry across India starting June 2026. All silver ornaments above 5 grams will require a valid BIS hallmark.

Kulgam Jewelry Exhibition 2026 — Save the Date

The Jewelers Association Kulgam is proud to announce the Kulgam Jewelry Exhibition 2026 scheduled for May 10-12, 2026. The event will showcase traditional Kashmiri gold and silver jewelry alongside modern designs from member jewelers.

Members who wish to set up stalls can register before March 31, 2026. Entry for the public will be free. Contact the association office for stall booking and details.

Free Hallmarking Camp Held — 80 Members Benefited

JAK organized a free BIS hallmarking camp in February 2026 in collaboration with the Kulgam district administration. Over 80 member jewelers participated and got their jewelry stock hallmarked at subsidized rates.

The next hallmarking camp is planned for May 2026. Members are advised to register early as spots fill up quickly.

New GST Rules for Jewelry Traders Effective 2026

The Government of India has issued updated GST guidelines for jewelry traders effective from January 2026. Key changes include revised input tax credit rules and updated billing requirements for gold transactions above ₹2 lakh.
